Fall is Upon Us
As summer is beginning to make it’s transition into fall, this year is proving to be an amazing display of nature’s power. The heavy winter snowpack across the west paved the way for strong spring vegetation growth and abundant wildflowers. As the dry summer progressed, the hot dry weather made the vegetation a natural risk for fires. Throw in lightning from the summer thunderstorms, along with a few reckless folks, and we have an outbreak of wildfires. In the southeast, the hurricane season kicked off it’s fury with some incredibly powerful storms bearing down on the northern Gulf Coast and the Caribbean, feeding up into Florida. Our hearts are with all those so greatly affected by these powerful forces of nature and thankful for the spirit of caring for each other that emerges during these tragic times.
Quietly around us, fall is also a time of magnificent change and beauty in nature. The trees and animals recognize the change in temperatures and prepare for the oncoming winter. It is an incredible experience to see the aspen trees in their full glory. The animals are making their final preparations for winter hibernation or migration to lower altitudes for winter food. Here are a few moments from the last few years of chasing fall.
In the blink of an eye…fall turns into winter!
I hope you can find a way to sneak out to enjoy nature in all it’s spectacular glory. Sometimes it is right in your own backyard!
Finally, thanks to all that are helping others during these challenging times!!
